neundorf at kde.org is the cmake dude, he knows everything. I know that from
cmake 2.4 to 2.6 things changed with the rpath handling; this was to force
explicit dependencies as much as possible.

I'd suggest updating to poppler 0.10.0 and then asking Alex only if that
doesn't work.

Those bits from KDESupport might need an update in general; again I'd try that
first and then try fixing the CMakeLists.txt
