On an LX50 with a very small boot disk, I'm building on an NFS mounted partition.
I found that MIT-KERBEROS5 and the circular dependency wouldn't build. I make a symlink from ~/packages/BUILD/FOSSmit-kerberos5 and the circular dependency to a local dir on the disk and then it built. This is probably NFS permissions related, and the couple of things I tried to fix it didn't work. Just in case someone sees error about permissions of files not being right, this may give you a hint Ben
