This sounds good ... but is it realistic? As I understand it, we're stretched for resources anyway (anyone care to object? ;-), so in effect duplicating effort seems somehow not-so-optimal. Maybe this is the way to go in the long run, once Solaris has re-established itself as a first order citizen in the KDE world, but until then, my personal preference would be to have one distro to rule^Wfit all supported releases of Solaris (ok, two - Sparc and x86. Hmm ... make that four - IPS is unavoidable, I think, if only for installation speed). what do our fearless leaders (Stefan, Adriaan, Luc ...) think about this? > At some point, the merge with CBE should also not be > constrained to SXCE (which it currently is) so that will > again improve the "standardization" of build platform > for more Open Source for Solaris. that's certainly something worth working towards.
