I've gone and put up all the packages that were built on my system - nv83, 
x86 - on the BionicMutton page (http://www.bionicmutton.org/solaris/) if 
anyone feels to try them. That's KBE -- an older version with too much 
stuff -- and the FOSS packages (of a few weeks ago) and KDE-r.800548 which is 
somewhere in the middle of a plasma api review, so at least pim and utils 
didn't update. But that still gives you

a) KDE4 desktop
b) Konqueror that works
c) Kate
d) Konsole you can't type ^C in

So if you like you can give it a stab. The KBE stuff isn't needed at runtime. 
The FOSS* things are all packages and can be installed normally. kde-r800548 
is a tarball and should be unpacked in /opt.
