This doubles the amount of work, for no real benefit that i can see, other
than pissing off those who want to stay on Solaris 10 U4, or U5.

Will you be the maintainer for these patches ?

The build instructions aren't sufficiently simple, and Solaris 10
Update 4 is the
current Solaris release.
