Then perharps it would deserve a foot note:
        <footnote><para>Some KDE distributions rename this folder to
        <filename>.Mail</filename>, with a dot at the beginning, and
        therefore <quote>hide</quote> it.</para></footnote>

I am using SUSE and it is not hidden. If I am correct, that's default KDE 
behaviour.
