Generally, we don't include the full documentation of "power mode" tools like the editor command line in KWrite in its documentation because KWrite is supposed to be a simple text editor and we'd like to keep its documentation simple and reduce much of the duplication between Kate and KWrite's documentation. However, we do try to link to the appropriate sections of Kate's documentation wherever possible, and unfortunately I missed this one. I'll add links to KWrite's documentation, and it will be included with the 4.8.1 KDE release. (KDE 4.8 will be released very soon; unfortunately it's too late for it.) Thanks for reporting this! -T.C.
