Hi,I wanted to make eBooks in plain text format display correctly on an eReader. Most such eBooks have a fixed line length, leading to an orphaned word or words appearing on alternate lines of the text. Not impossible to read, but a bit irritating. I tried contacting Microsoft, Apple and Corelle, who own the Word Perfect software. Neither Microsoft or Apple could be made to understand what I wanted, but Corell were worst, pretending their software would do the job in order to make a sale. It won't. By sheer luck, I found Kate does work, by simply highlighting a paragraph with the mouse and selecting "join lines" or the keyboard shortcut. No other word processors does this as far as I know, and they only allow this to be done line by line. Obviously this is far too slow for an entire book, even if acceptable for the occasional email.
