KDE has several financial applications - but as they each work
differently, which one are you using, which version of the application,
and what operating system and distribution? Although it doesn't seem
likely, it is possible that function requires a plugin which is not
present. One other thing you might try is to run the program from the
command line, and see if there are any useful messages written to the
console.
