Hi

I saw the notice that some key features normally standard in investment programs are still to be implemented into Kmymoney. I’m a Quicken refugee after years of escalating costs and was hoping I could do a complete conversion.

I appreciate being informed but would like to know when these features are scheduled to be added. My priority would be capital gains, tax reporting then derivatives.

Look forward to hearing from you.

This is really a question for the KMyMoney team, not the documentation writers, so I've altered the dist list.

Unfortunately, I don't believe any of these three specific items are very high on the priority list.  (As many FLOSS projects say, however, patches very welcomed.)  The issue of capital gains is part of an eventual major revamp of how investments are handled, but that work has not yet been started, and the actual full scope of what needs to be done has not been fully discussed.  I'm not sure exactly what you mean by derivatives, but if it is not yet addressed by any current wishlist bug, that would be the way to go so it is not forgotten.  For tax reporting for last, there is already at least one report which includes all categories which have been marked as tax related, so if that's not sufficient for you, you need to be more explicit (probably in a separate thread) about what you want that is not currently handled.

Just for reference, the major items known to be needed for investments include handling cash in a regular investment account (not needing a separate brokerage account), transferring securities between different investment accounts, tracking investments (which purchase is being sold, and thus capital gains).  That is clearly not a difinetive list, which will not actually be decided until work is ready to begin.
