I see what you mean: if I right click on the Firefox icon on the panel,
it leads to Properties > Application > Advanced Options > untick,"Run in
terminal".

Although this was a statement, I'll try to answer. Please try to edit the item
you use to run Firefox and untick or remove the "Run in console" item
(Properties -> Application -> Advanced for the panel button).
