It is working, but too late, it seems. I see the same problem with two vpn plugins in the plasma-nm repo (I'm probably the only one who builds that right now). It is like the kservice_desktop_to_json() macro is run too late, because the .json file is generated alright, but apparently not at the point where it's included in the build -- so moc (or whatever is is that does this Q_PLUGIN_METADATA doesn't find it and fails. When looking into the build directory, the file is there (after the first, clean build). Re-running make makes it build OK reliably here. This looks like a race condition: 0 desktoptojson is started from cmake 2 Q_PLUGIN_METADATA macro is evaluated 1 .json file arrives on disk I have not figured out why this happens, maybe someone else has an idea? I've tried shuffling around the kservice_desktop_to_json() macro, to no avail.
