Hey guys, It's that time of the year again. The server that currently hosts the k-f repository is up for renewal. However, my partner in crime, petef, wants to ditch it. I am currently not making any money off the server, unfortunately, in spite of plans to do so. Since I am not especially interested in paying US$1k/yr for it, I'm going to need to move the master repository elsewhere. :(
Currently, the only choice I can think of at the moment is to move it to my fileserver at home. Offers from others would be nice, since my home DSL uses the same ISP as freebsd.kde.org[1]. I think we should continue to host it on a server that doesn't host or is near any other k-f resources. Just my opinion, though. Obviously, since I haven't been involved in the project much for a long time, it's not of especially high concern to me. The server is up for renewal on October 7th, but we will likely extend it through November 7th, if we can. I'd like to move the repository as soon as possible, given that time frame.
