Hi,
a few days ago I updated my Laptop's KDE from 3.5.3 to 3.5.4 using
packages (it's a rather small machine, so I prefer not to compile).
Unfortunately, I started the portupgrade from a running KDE. That was
very stupid, I know. Well, for quite a while portupgrade was unable to
fetch any updated package, so it downloaded the package of the Version
that was installed, found that the package he fetched was the same as
the installed, discarded it and continued with the next port. As that
took hours and I wanted to finish my work I started the portupgrade from
the running KDE, thinking "it won't do anything useful this time". That
was wrong.
So, after portupgrade finished, all KDE-Components were updated. I
stopped and re-started KDE -- and missed some Icons (like for Konsole,
Konqueror, Klipper, Amarok, Kopete and much more). They are lost both
from the K-Menü and from the Control-Panel and also don't appear in the
Icon-List that appears after klicking on the Icon in a
Programs-Settings-Dialog.
First I checked my Settings; KDE was and is set to use "CrystalSVG". I
then checked the installed Versions of all ports, which looked ok. Then
I ran portupgrade -fPP kde\* arts (this time the correct way, from the
Console w/o X running); however, that didn't cure my Problem, too.
I also have KDE 3.5.4 installed on my Desktop-Machine (where I installed
and upgraded from ports) where all Icons are available (I use CrystalSVG
on that machine, too).
Does anyone have a hint how I might get the missing Icons?
