Hi, David: I followed the both links in your last two emails; created xorg.conf via "Xorg -configure" and inserted the line "<Option "AllowEmptyInput" "off">" . After rebooted, the system worked.
So my guess is that either the code 7.4.1 didn't fix the problem or somehow the KDE still use 7.4 version of xorg.
