now I choose print from the main menu, select a printer from the
offered possibility, enable as well print-preview; this gives:

but the preview appears fine; clcik on print gives the output in CUPS or
file but kdvi crashes at the end with SIGSEGV
KCrash: Application 'kdvi' crashing...
any idea? or should I file a bug report?
