Unofficially, this is a place to start, http://techbase.kde.org/User:Jucato > > Is actively maintained? > I understand that there is probably no new development for KDE3, but how > about bufixes - are bug reports still welcome and do they have a chance to > get fixed? Or should I rather just switch to KDE4? No assurance of bugfixes from KDE for version 3. Confession time, I still mostly use KDE3 myself. I would like to see it stay around for some time to come. But the fact of the matter is we have a small and talented group of folks helping support the FreeBSD port of KDE. It takes a combined effort of all of us to keep on top of KDE4 updates, and trying to keep multiple branches maintained is a lot of work for a group of volunteers. So really, unless somebody openly contradicts me, or has a better plan, I suspect that kde3 will go away at the end of 2009.
