The following seems like a platform-specific issue. With KDE4, in Switch User dialog (Leave/Switch User) I am always presented only with "New Session" option. Even if there is another KDE4 session running that was spawned via the same dialog.
KDE3 presents all available sessions in a similar dialog. Unfortunately, actually switching sessions via that dialog doesn't work - but Ctrl+Alt+Fx does.
