oops, i should have read this mail before, as i am the maintainer of
kpackagekit... yes, i confirm there was a crash (100% reproducible)
with kpackagekit service. disabling the service in system settings was
enough to make kded not crash

the good news is that with the latest updates to kpackagekit the error
went away, and you can now run the service and successfully get
updates notifications (still considering that the ports backend is in
horrible shape at the moment...), without any crash
