yes it is

mysql_install_db --force \
    --defaults-file=~/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf \
    --datadir=~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data \
    --basedir=$(dirname `dirname $(which mysql_install_db)`)

 the last part --basedir=$(dirname `dirname....  of course returns
"Illegal variable name"

even after correcting it, the script returns another error from the sql
script of some none existing resources, I do not recall exactly and I am
not at work, if you can not reproduce it and like to get details, only
tomorrow when I have access to run it again
