No, / is just a plain ole vanilla UFS and /tmp is on that.
[freebsd10 5:42] ~ >df -h /tmp/work

/dev/da0p2     18G    9.1G    7.8G    54%    /
[freebsd10 5:56] ~ >mount
/dev/da0p2 on / (ufs, local, journaled soft-updates)
devfs on /dev (devfs, local, multilabel)
/dev/da1p1 on /src (ufs, NFS exported, local)
