I'm experiencing this too.

The thing is that KDE4 uses libsmbclient36, and smbclient/smbget
executables from samba36 doesn't work for too. The 3.6 version is EOL,
which probably explains why it doesn't work anymore.

Samba44 does work, but there is no libsmbclient44, alas.
