The overlay is important only if you want KDE Plasma 6. For that, the best thing to do is to just try the overlay -- I have no idea if it's tied to a specific git commit or what. The KDE Plasma 6 beta release is out today, though, so it is probably time to land things in the main ports tree now. [ade]
