Well, the explanation is quite simple: you just need to rename .img to .iso. Problem was that the .img extension was created by K3b and I noticed it only after making the release and there is no apparent way to rename a released file in berliOS. I have made a support request so that we can just rename the extension on the server. If this is not possible I need to delete the file and upload it again :( Let's see if the berliOS people answer.
