Hi,
I'm responsible for the Norwegian (Nynorsk) KDE translation. This weekend, I'll attend
to a conference in Oslo, where the issue of Nynorsk software is discussed. As you
perhaps know, Microsoft has never released Nynorsk versions, and there are very little
Nynorsk software in general. The release of KDE 2.0 was welcomed by many, also
non-Linux users. At his conference, I'll get the chance to discuss with people from
Microsoft and present the Nynorsk KDE translation.
I've heard that the Icelandic KDE came before MS created Windows in Icelandic, and
that it kind of put a pressure on MS. But I prefer knowing, not guessing, so I hope
you can tell me something about the "history". (I've seen some articles on Icelandic
web sites, but I can't read Icelandic very well ...)
How much has MS translated? Just Windows, or Office as well?
What did the Icelandic government have to do? (I've heard that the Norwegian
government wants to avoid the same deal.)
Is KDE used today by people/companies that "normally" wouldn't use Linux (Unix) and
KDE?
I hope you can help me so that I can present some facts on the conference.
