Has anyone come across this behaviour? KPackageKit runs up to get an automatic update. I click to review the update, hit "apply", and immediately get a privilege-escalation dialog box asking me to log in as root in order to "set the network proxy for package downloads". That done, it asks me for root authorisation for the update itself.
The update then fails with a message that the proxy "HTTP_PROXY" was not found. I am not using any proxies and don't want one. I presume that somewhere, the variable name HTTP_PROXY is being confounded with the value it references. -- The only thing worse than e-mail disclaimers...is people who send e-mail to lists complaining about them
