Hi all, as promised in the last blogging about, I'm ready to move rekonq to kde- developers group on gitorious. We'll also aim to ask for a (git)-kdereview of our code to eventually move to extragear/base or network or wherever you like.
I'm anyway aware that people is doing a lot of work in this moment, preparing the "git switch". So, I'm here just to ask: is it the right moment to do it? To let you all know about my pet project, rekonq aims to be just a lightweight browser for KDE based on Qt/kdewebkit. Its code is ever been on http://gitorious.org/rekonq, where I found more than 25 (!) contributors (obviously, most of them are occasional "patchers"). Git(orious) Power! We just have a lot of bugs in bugzilla (https://bugs.kde.org), a lot of good intentions on TechBase (http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/rekonq/Roadmap) Some times ago, I tried moving my code in playground/network to start working with git-svn. The second commit I did, I pushed one bitmap and I could no more sync git and svn together :( I tried to fix (me and) my problems with git-svn, but I quickly come back to pure git managing.. In the while someone from the l10n team (cannot remember his name: who were you?) asked me to leave rekonq code there to let people start translating. This just to explain the "strange" copy in svn. Seems quite all, for now. Feel free to ask if you need more infos.
