Different users use different work flows. You can freely choose one of the workflows that suit you. If you don't completely trust a certain computer, you might not use your ssh key which gives you access to other important machines, but rather use a second key on those machines for example. I do that too mostly. Important in the KDE case is that we support multiple ssh keys for subversion and for git. I'll make a web page where you can add multiple keys to your account. Until that time you can use the sysadmin bug report system to request a key to be added to your account. As explained before.
