Continuing on this old thread, I made the gstreamer phonon backend work on Windows (phonon from Qt 4.6.0).
After trying every single backend on Windows, I think this might be the good one, although I need to do further testing. Although based on the Qt phonon, I see no reason it wouldn't work for the KDE one. The current patch vs. Qt 4.6.0-rc phonon is available at http://gitorious.org/mythq/mythq/trees/master/contrib I used the gstreamer for Windows binaries available at http://www.gstreamer-winbuild.ylatuya.es/doku.php Tested with the qmediaplayer coming from the Qt demos.
