Hi,
since svn revision 1161590 trunk emerge is now available to support more
than one patch file by using the following patch definition line
self.patchToApply['build-target'] = [('filename', <patchdepth>),
('filename', <patchdepth>)] (with integer patchdepth)
This helps to ensure having single patch files which makes live easier
than to maintain one big patch file.
BTW: For subclass based packages this feature is not available yet.
