The installer log is located in the directory where the packages are
downloaded into. The location could be fetched from the installer
(uncheck skip basic settings) and proceed to the download page or as
mentioned by Christian in the main config file.

That didn't work. The installer.ini file is in c:/program files
(x86)/kde/etc and contains:
[General]
version=2
PackageManagerMode=false
SkipBasicSettings=true
compilerType=6
MirrorWithReleasePath=http://www.winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win32/releases/stable/4.5.4/
debug=all
No log file was generated. I did a complete Windows Desktop search for
the filename.

It's the installer that fails at that point. Thank you.
Please edit the installer config file:
notepad "%APPDATA%\kde\installer.ini"
and make sure you add:
debug=all
After that run the installer and checkout the
%TMP%\KDE\kdewin-installer.log file to see what went wrong.

Can you access that page from a browser? Did you set the correct proxy
if you are behind a proxy?

When using the Windows implementation to update to 4.6.2 there is a missing
Linux file so the update aborts (I am in Australia July 11, 2012). Thanks.
Could you be a bit more explicit please? Which file is missing?
