Hi yes, I ran into thse problems as well.

iirc it asks for 1.8.1, but the emerge portage script only installs 1.8.0

I have a fix for this, although I also ran into problems building kdepimlibs after this was installed. I'll push the akonadi fix to kde-4.9 branch, and follow up here with the patches I submitted for the kdepimlibs.

The issue there was that the errors I was getting should have failed on Linux distros as well, I wasn't sure if there might have been something in emerge adding the parameter which was causing the problem or not.

Hi,

before diving into the emerge dependency-stuff, I'm wondering wether
anybody else hit a problem when trying to emerge kdepimlibs? In
particular its complaining about missing akonadi server libraries.
This is using the KDE/4.9 branch and running emerge akonadi does not
do anything (presumably because its already installed).
Yes -- I got the same problem last week, but I didn't have time to look into
it, or even to report it. I think Stuart also ran into this issue.
