I'm the author of the WebP image format plugin in KDE. I can very well use a webp image as a desktop wallpaper - it's really just a missing pattern in the file selection dialog. Simply enter *.webp as filter in the file dialog (yes, you can change the filter being used) and you'll get your images selectable. > > Very new image format.
