I think I will first try to make a 0.6 release of Kdenlive that is still based on KDE3. The next (0.7) Kdenlive version will be based on KDE4 but won't have many new features. I am currently working on it and the main concern is to improve the UI to make it nicer and include some nice ideas like dragging a clip's corner to crossfade and that kind of small details that are nice to have. But the KDE4 version means rewriting a lot of code, so the first release will most likely not have a lot of new features. Once the porting will be done, the titler could easily be improved and include options like object transparencies.
