Ok, now I see a possible cause. KDE uses xml files to describe the application
menus. In the case of Kdenlive, we have a file called kdenliveui.rc which
congtains the ui description. If you run Kdenlive from svn and have an
installed kdenliveui.rc file from an older version, you will have a crash
because some menus or actions will not be found.

That file is usually installed in /usr/share/apps/kdenlive/, and a user
customized version can also be created in $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kdenlive
