Money can't do everything ;-) It appears that none of the past contributors is available to work on it at the moment, even for paid hours?
And other potential contributors (like me) can get involved just for the pleasure to feel useful to others, to defend the free software cause or whatever. I would feel like usurper beeing paid for very amateur programming skills, and can't justify time taken over professional or personal life. Lastly I would not find it fair regarding all the voluntary work JBM did provide (I guess it was not his day job looking at the time and days he used to commit his changes). But don't misinterpret my thoughts: I wouldn't blame anybody taking the job but rather thank him/her, if we find someone to hire for the tasks we need? (or a company taking the project lead?)
