I give it a try in English:
First of all, I am an average Kdenlive user, not a developer, but? I am
struggeling with the following problems in Kdenlive (version 0.9.6) for some
weeks now (which could eventually be connected to the issue described by Till
Theato):
After an update from libmlt++3 (mlt 0.8.8) to libmlt5 (mlt 0.8.8-1) about 1 or
2 months ago (using Kubuntu 13.04, problem also occurred in Kubuntu 12.04 and
12.10) the following options in the Kdenlive settings menu were no longer
working:
- Download new render profiles
- Download new project profiles
- Download new title templates (not sure if this is the correct term as I am
using the German version of Kdenlive)

(It's of course just a speculation that the MLT update has anything to do with
this problem, could also be a coincidence.)
As I could not find any solution I did some research, tried to find out who I
could contact (obviously subscribed to the Kdenlive devel lists), reported a
bug at Mantis bugs, opened a thread in the KDE Community Forums.
In the KDE Community Forums there were some other people describing the same
issue.
About 2 or 3 weeks later the kdenlive.org site dissappeared for a short periode
of time, but was accessible again maybe 1 or 2 days later.
Some weeks ago (about? 2 or 3) kdenlive.org completely dissappeared from the
internet. No search results in Google, dead link in Wikipedia etc..
Error message in my browser:
Zugriff verweigert!
Der Zugriff auf das angeforderte Verzeichnis ist nicht m?glich. Entweder ist
kein Index-Dokument vorhanden oder das Verzeichnis ist zugriffsgesch?tzt.
