What's your timescale on the VEML changes. The problem is, I want to fix these ALSA problems, but the commits are somewhat in conflict with the VEML syntax chnges. I would need to do same CVS gymnastics or create a new branch to have both. However, if kdenlive can talk the new VEML, than we could have a 0.2.5 synched release for both projects.
