Yes, I had seen this but was too lazy to fix. Done now.
* try to add a PNG file as a clip - "all supported files" doesn't seem to
include PNG, so choose "All Files"
* duration shows as 00:05:00:00 in project tree (is it really
supposed to be 5 minutes??)
Looks like your png file was not recognized as an image. Works for me. Can
you tell me what is the output of the following command on your system:
file --mime-type yourimage.png
