the video is full screen, no (normally no) background :-(on most of the clips the borders are very dark, so I didn't notice the problem at first :-(
And lastly, I would do a litle % of zoom, but you said you can't do it...
I don't find easy, in kdenlive, to zoom out, a good idea could be to add a second resizing frame inside the image :-)
