I believe it is a regression (if not please switch it to wish).
Anyway, let's say you have mail from "joe.doe gmail com"
No problem searching for "joe.doe" (via quick search). But if the sender uses
such identity (from field):
Joe Doe <joe.doe gmail com>
you cannot search for "joe.doe" any longer because KMail sees only "Joe Doe"
part as a sender.
