I do confirm the same issue with Kmail 1.9.7 and Kubuntu 7.10.
Blank messages.
Especially I see that for messages that I imported from other softwares
(outlook express) many years ago but that were ok till the last kmail update.
My guess is: issues with header from different softwares and/or old messages
(1999 and earlier).
