Chris, thanks for the report, it is of high quality. We are largely aware of
the IMAP issues, but lack of man power keeps us from auditing and overhauling
you suggest, at least in the 3.5 code base. We have redesigned our storage
layer for the 4.x series, but most applications have not been ported yet.
