Roman Odaisky tells me that $IGNORED is a server-side flag, confirming the
feature-of-the-imap-server theory. Can anybody confirm? Which IMAP servers
are known to work with kmail for this feature?
If this is indeed a server-side problem, I guess this bug can be closed.)
