Your system is probably misconfigured. Either Konqueror does not work correctly
or the mimetype settings are wrong.
KMail just uses the general "KRun" function to start external apps for URL
links.
It is highly unlikely that this is a problem with KMail.
Your mimetype settings can be found by starting "kcmshell filetypes"
