I read jis7 was the same as iso-2022-jp.
Most Japanese mails (not some) I receive are encoded in iso-2022-jp and have
the correct charset in the header. In fact, I can read the same mails without
having to change the encoding from "Auto" in KDE3.
I can compose Japanese mails in UTF-8 but have to use iso-2022-jp for Japanese
mailing lists. Otherwise, archived mails are garbled.
