I am having the same issue using kmail 1.9.9 (kde 3.5.9) running Kubuntu Hardy
Heron. (The problem existed for me in Gutsy Gibbon as well). Like the original
poster, the problem only occurs for one particular folder, namely my gmail
inbox, which is disconnected imap. The message list always jumps to the message
I have selected. This is problematic, if I want to scroll through the message
list using the scrollbar or a scrollwheel on a mouse. Every second or so the
message list automatically goes back to focus on the selected message (the
selected message appears as either the topmost or bottommost message in the
list, depending on which way I have scrolled). Even if I have not scrolled
away, the message list does a little "hiccup" every second or so, which is
visually very distracting.
