Ah, it seems that the second issue is inexistent. If I manually enter
Location=/var/mail/$USER in kmailrc as stated in bug 166148, the account works
fine. You just have to make sure that the Location is saved in kmailrc, but I
guess your patch does the trick. I will try a newer revision later and let you
know.
