I think that sounds quite sensible, yes, since the items you mention are
basically a duplication of functionality. I can see why you'd want to remove
that kind of thing.
Thanks for considering this - I'm colour blind so I find it quite important to
be able to adjust colours in order to make my desktop more usable. For example,
I don't like having red and green message wrappers, since they look very
similar to me. I doubt that any "automatic" calculation of colours would be
able to account for the many different types of colour blindness which exist,
so I think it's good to keep the option to choose your own colours there.
