Search results -- in such case in the last, newly opened tab. But you don't have to "look for" it. You define rules, you click "search", new tab is created as last one, and user is switcher right to it. #2 You have current FM in each tab (multiple tabs possible). Each tab consists of two "slide tabs" (left pane, symbols, in Kile for example). One slide tab is rules, another is results.
